Summer Reads

summer reading list

There’s nothing like a cold glass of wine + a good book to cap off a summer evening. Since these nights are finally within reach, I want to ensure i’m stocked with a couple of good reads for the occasion. Here’s what’s on my list:

  • Cartwheel by Jennifer deBois – a read roughly based on the Amanda Knox story {girl studies abroad + finds herself in the middle of a murder trial for her roommate}

  • All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr – Set during WWII in Nazi occupied France, this novel follows the story of a blind French girl + a German boy {it’s received numerous awards + rave reviews so i’m extremely intrigued}

  • Dead Wake by Erik Larson- {for Titanic fans} This recounts the tragic true story of an ocean liner headed towards England that sank when it was hit by a German torpedo, killing everyone onboard

  • Nobody is Ever Missing by Catherine Lacey- For those who liked Gone Girl, this book involves a equally mysterious girl and her abrupt exit from her life in Manhattan and follows her as she goes “off the grid”

  • Going off Script by Giuliana Rancic- OK, guilty pleasure. I love Giuliana + think she is one tough + inspiring lady, so naturally I would love to hear her dish about her life off of the air

…more to come!
