The most unexpected weekends seem to merit the greatest amount of fun; this weekend was no exception to that. On Friday, I ended up at my first distillery tour with a group of friends. Learning the ins + outs of how hard liquor was made – and should taste- my not have been the top of my summer priority list, but it was surprisingly insightful + enjoyable. The next day followed with a trip to Chicago to spend some time with my family. Dining + enjoying the downtown scene with them was not only a blast, but much needed. For the few times I get to see them, a night out in the Windy City was the perfect venue for a great time.

As the last few days of summer are winding down, i’ve certainly got a few things to check-off on my list before the colder weather creeps in {more to come on that list…} While I work on a few of those must-do’s, here are a few other things i’ve been enjoying lately:

{beauty picks currently at the top of my list: the softest lotion, perfect scent, shaped soap + summer lip look}

{playing with some food photography at the Create + Cultivate conference}

{new sunnies from Warby Parker; loving the tortoise shell picks}

{hotel views on a dreary Chicago morning- the perfect Sunday weather in my book 😉 }

{many tennies for many miles logged; over halfway through my training- yay! }

{moments w/ mom before dinner downtown at Howells and Hood}

{turtle sundae from my favorite custard stop on a sweltering afternoon}

    Looks like a great weekend! It is already getting so cold in MN, 65 today! I’m not ready for Summer to end quite yet, like you, I still have a few things to check off my list!
