6 beauty products I love for summer

I’ve never considered myself much of a beauty junkie, but as i’ve aged {my mom would laugh at me for saying this} I can visibility notice a difference in my hair + skin after investing in a few high quality products. Over the last few months, i’m made an effort to pour through beauty blogs, and make visits to my local cosmetics counters, to assemble what I would consider to be a blog-worthy beauty arsenal. So, in an effort to save you some of the dirty work, i’m here today to share my stash:

  1. ONE//Dr. Brandt Skincare microdermabrasion skin exfoliant– They might as well call this “derm-visit-in-a-bottle.” I scrub this on my face for a few minutes every few days and am left with touchably soft skin. This is the perfect warrior against weekend make-up or the occasional summer spray-tan residue.
  2. TWO//Smashbox Bronze Lights in Warm Matte– I was on the hunt for the perfect summer bronzer + this product fit the bill in more ways than one. Natural, light-weight + just a hint of shimmer. I was initially drawn to the product by favorite blogger’s recommendation + I haven’t been disappointed.
  3. THREE//John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo + Conditioner– Little known fact, I recently dyed my blonde locks back to their natural roots {a light brunette}. The change was motivated by an attempt to avoid the damage that comes with monthly up-keep. While I like the change, I do miss the brightness that came with my original look, especially come the warmer months. After two washes using this duo, my hair had noticeably lightened.
  4. FOUR//MAC Lustre Drops–  I use this product frequently, paired with my favorite blush. It adds a touch of radiance to the cheekbones, and since it’s a liquid, stays on even through sun + sweat. Come July, this product will sometimes be the only product I apply, as the perfect compliment to a long day in the sun.
  5. FIVE//Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara– Last time raving about this one, I swear! But really, i’ve tried many mascara’s and this one is hands-down the best. It leaves my lashes looking like I just applied falsies, with only a couple strokes. Better yet, it leaves them feeling light {nearly makeup-less!} and still somehow manages to stay on, regardless of the swelter outside.
  6. SIX//Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color– This is a newer product from Bobbi, and perfect for summer in my opinion. It goes on in a creamy swipe, locking in moisture along the way + providing a perfect amount of coverage without the “sticky-feel”. Best of all, the color I purchased (pale petal) looks natural enough to wear around the office or as an accent to a nice summer glow.
