What I’ve Been Up To Lately

Can you believe it’s almost September? Not having four seasons is throwing me for a loop over here, but i’m definitely not complaining. Bring on the football, pumpkin-themed food, birthdays, and an excuse to start getting ready for the holidays! But before I get too ahead of myself, let me get you caught up on what i’ve been up to lately.

This final month of summer has been busy. Ryan and I have made the trek home for several weddings and Bachelor/Bachelorette parties. Despite being slightly worn-out from the cross country travel {it’s 6 hours home with the time change}, it has been wonderful to spend more time with friends and family. My family just made an exciting new move to the lake {!!}, so it was so fun being part of the transition for a weekend — and providing decorative input where I could 😉 That and you simply can’t beat summer in the Midwest!

Most of the radio silence over here is largely due to a cool new job opportunity that kicked off this month. Doing what I love full-time has always been something i’ve strived for, but I didn’t think I could make it happen so soon. Saying I feel thrilled to fill my days with lots of creative energy and cool collaborations is quite the understatement. Some mornings I pinch myself thinking “Is this really happening?” So I guess the sage saying is true: Find what you love to fill your free time with and go after it with gumption. The final result will be so worth it.
